our
principle solicitor, Edwin Mok
Each
and everyone of us has a dream. Some want to be architects to
build their dream house. Some want to be doctors to save peoples'
lives. Some are called by God to be in full-time ministry to save
peoples' souls. My dream is to be a Christian lawyer to help the
needy and to serve the community.
I know that as God's
child and steward, I am entrusted with the task to serve and
glorify God, through my work, my family, my fellowship with
Christians and my friendship with others. In following God's
teaching, should act to the best of my abilities with all my heart
and all my might, constantly reminding myself to act with honesty
and integrity and be compassionate. By God's grace, I began
fulfilling my dream in 1991 when I started my Christian law firm
"Mok & Associates" in the Sydney CBD, Australia. Mok
& Associates has successfully assisted developers in building
townhouses and high rise apartments, mediated family and
partnership disputes, defended wives who were oppressed by their
husbands, and assisted our clients' parents and relatives to
migrate to Australia. The firm “Mok & Associates”
in Australia was closed on 1st
July 2010. Now that I am back in Hong Kong through God’s
Direction, I have started my Hong Kong law firm “Edwin Mok &
Co., Solicitor” which will carry on my legal work for those
in need of my services.
In
fulfilling my dream each and every employee of the firm, both past
and present, has at some point given me assistance and
inspiration. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them
all.
I am also greatly indebted to my beloved ones: my
parents, my parents-in-law, my wife, my son James Joshua and my
daughter Sarah Stephanie. All of them are exceptional and for me
they are indeed the world's most wonderful family members. I could
not have continued and expanded my practice without their
continual support, prayers, love and encouragement. In particular,
I am most grateful to my dear wife Rina who has been my trusted
confidante, always ready and most willing to provide advice with
great wisdom and discernment in all aspects of my career. I will
always remember my late parents-in-law in my heart. Even during
the days of their illnesses, they still encouraged me during times
of stress and comforted me in times of difficulties.
Above
all, I joyfully give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ. Throughout
my career I have experienced God's love and blessings and I praise
Him for His unconditional love, unchanged faithfulness, and His
continual guidance, "You have made known to me the path of
life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal
pleasures at Your right hand" (Psalm 16:11).
